two months.
will is now two months old. he's doing everything a typical two month old does. he still eats + sleeps a lot but is having some "play" time now. he's been super chatty for a couple of weeks. he comes by that naturally. he had his first growth spurt this past weekend which was a first experience for me. he wanted to eat every 1.5 hours and wanted to be held for naps. funny when you are living in it, it seems like it's been weeks. then suddenly i was able to put him down and all i wanted to do was hold him. but of course left him because he doesn't sleep for that long! here are the little man's stats.
weight: 14 lbs 6 oz - 90%
height: 23 inches - 44%
head: 15.75 inches - 44%

that smile.
if i have learned one thing from having three kids it is this. every child is different. and i mean EVERY child. my first child slept in the carseat for the first four months of her life. my second went straight to the crib. and now, number three. he sleeps in the swing. it doesn't matter what worked before it most likely will not work the second or third time for that matter. so when you thought after one that you had it all figured out. bam. god gives you a completely different, perfectly made little person and makes you work to figure it out. but, it's all part of it. but, through the frustration and sleepless nights comes the smiles. the smile that can make you forget about everything in the entire world for moments. it's like a drug. once you see it you will do whatever it takes to see it again and again.
will smiled a couple of weeks ago for the first time. yet i cannot find the actual picture from that day at the moment. it lives somewhere on my computer.
but, he's a sweet little half smile for now.

hospital pictures.
let's be honest. there are few people who look great after having a baby. maybe right after but then the swelling sets in and you find you haven't slept in 24 hours either because you were in labor or you were so excited and in shock of your new little one that you just couldn't sleep. atleast, i'd like to think i'm not alone in looking like crap the following days. but, nonetheless that time is so special and goes by in a blink of an eye. i remember looking at these pictures and thinking i would never share them. thanks to all the extra fluid, random parts would swell for the next couple of days. which of course was when we brought the kiddos up to meet their new brother. but, a short eight weeks later i can't believe how fast time is flying by. i asked mark to take some pictures of will and i. no make up, first thing in the morning pictures. but, let's be honest again. i never put on a make up and do my hair anyways! :)
couldn't be more thankful for this sweet + healthy boy and for these pictures during his short hospital stay! hard to believe he's two months today.

my new view.
i never really got around to posting pictures when will was a newborn.
coming home.
believe it or not our car trips are generally pretty quiet 80% of the time. the other 20% usually involves crying.

6 w e e k s.
i am starting back up to sessions + i know the next couple of months are going to be crazy! but, i am going to try my hardest to keep up because in the midst of the craziness these kids seems to grow up a lot!
will had a busy day when he turned six weeks old! that morning mark had a triathlon. i snapped a couple of pictures but it started pouring so i put my camera away so it wouldn't get wet.
and that was pretty much it with my camera. thank goodness for cell phones once again!
we went home and showered and headed to lunch with papa + gigi. i took will (+ avery) to go watch his best friend get dedicated at church.
the boys stayed home and napped while avery + i went to a friend's birthday party.

i also went to a clickin walk down in houston with other photographers that evening. it's no secret that i love photographing people. so when everyone was snapping pictures of landscape + trees i decided to photograph will since i brought him with me. so, this is how he spent his six week birthday. he was held for a lot of it. but, he slept a bit.
yep. screaming his head off.
my beautiful friend, kelly.
and here are a few snaps from other photogs on the walk.
