Getting Bigger

She has exceeded her birth weight already by 2.5 ounces! We are so blessed she is such a great baby and healthy! Here are some pictures. I love to take photos of her...it's my new favorite thing to do!

5 day old!

Avery is officially 5 days old! She is a great baby. She slept this afternoon for 4 hours straight, woke up to eat and is now back napping. I'm hoping that doesn't mean she will be up all night but we'll see. We went to the pediatrician on Wednesday and she had already gained an ounce back from when she left the hospital. Here are some pictures from the past two days. Enjoy!

Avery Elizabeth Torrey

Avery Elizabeth Torrey finally made her grand entrance into the world on June 22, 2009 at 3:24 AM. She weighed in at 7 pounds 9.3 ounces. (No 5.5 pounder as the doctor predicted!). She is absolutely beautiful and more than we ever imagined. We are probably a little biased but we think she's pretty cute for straight out of the oven. Our decision to wait was well worth it! She is doing great here in the hospital and we will be taking her home tomorrow morning! She is doing everything a baby should...sleeping, eating, and pooping! :) She cries a little but not very much so we hope this keeps up. Thank you for all the prayers and sweet messages. Here are some pictures from her first couple hours of life! We can't wait to share more on our little girl!

Still waiting

Unfortunately we are not here to share news of our new addition. After careful thought and consideration Mark and I decided to postpone the induction. We felt a little rushed and saw no medical reason for inducing this week. We are praying she will enter the world on her own when she is ready and we have left it up to nature to run its course. However, the doctors will only let us wait until next Monday evening and at that point if she is not here induction is necessary for her safety and health. So, we are back to waiting and going to the doctor every 2 days to make sure she is still okay! So far so good. My mom gets in town tomorrow so now she will be here for the actual birth! We hope she is just waiting for her "mimi". While we wish she were here already, we feel we made the right decision for our family. We ask for prayers for a safe delivery sometime in the next 5 days!

Ready or not she's coming...

UPDATE: The doctor called and an induction has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 16th. We will go in the night before around 7:30pm to begin with the hopes she will be born 24 hours later on June 17th. We are excited to meet our little girl but are still hoping to go into labor on our own. I am mentally preparing for all the possible scenarios, including a c-section. (Although it is one of the last things I would prefer). My mom sent us a video camera so we can record all of Avery's cute little moments. Once again, I'm learning how to import and edit so I am practicing my "skills" before she arrives. Here is my latest "movie" of the Avery's life inside the womb. Enjoy! :)

One Week and Counting

We are officially one week away. After our last appointment the doctor doesn't expect Avery to arrive too much past her due date if at all. We are now just waiting for her arrival! I am officially done with work so the fear of going into labor while at the office is gone. So, needless to say we are getting excited for her arrival. Mark and I enjoyed a nice dinner together with just the two of us followed by a nice evening walk. We are just trying to enjoy doing those things that might be a little more challenging once she arrives. Here are some pictures Mark took before we headed out during the day and on our walk. Let's hope the next post includes pictures of little Avery! :)
