we had a great weekend! the weather was beautiful and mark was home, what could be better? i give you a couple of pictures from last week to start your monday off right!

well, maybe not helping

so this morning i woke up to avery crying because she was ready to get up, i on the other hand was not. but i dragged myself out of bed and a friend had sent me a message that she wanted to go workout. so, i threw on my clothes and we were out the door. avery did great today in the daycare. they didn't come and get me because she was fussy, she didn't even notice i had walked back in to come get her. i gave her a little bit of milk from the bottle (yay avery!) and we were off to library time. avery usually stays very close to me but today when we got there she was ready to play. i LOVE watching her interact with the other babies. i think it's one of the sweetest things to witness but as avery was trying to crawl over to the little boy next to her i kept pulling her back because we were supposed to be "paying attention". well, the librarian called us out and said "that while it is cute usually the first thing babies do to one another is stick their fingers in their eye." this librarian is CRAZY i should add! i wanted to so badly to tell her that i was not going to let her stick her fingers in another little boy's eyes, but i refrained. i kept my mouth shut because i don't want avery to be known as the "child with the crazy mom" but that made me mad. but, avery loves playing with the other kids so i'll continue to go! luckily everyone else agrees she is crazy but then keep coming too.

i also received this link today for a prayer request. i will warn you that if you click on it and start reading this sweet girls story you may/will cry. reading this just puts things into perspective as most mothers have had one of those days when you can't get anything done and all you want is 30 minutes of silence. please pray for this sweet girl and her family. layla grace's blog

thankfully avery took a long nap and had a much happier afternoon so i was able to get some "scrapbook worthy" pictures! happy 8 months old avery!

8 months old

8 months old, where does the time go? so i got up this morning to a cloudy day, which is always disappointing when i want to take pictures of avery outside. it is SO hard to get good pictures these days because she never stays still or even in the same spot for more than a second. the only time she doesn't move is when she is standing up and doesn't know how to get down. i'm going to try and get some more pictures this afternoon...wish me luck!

this weekend avery had my favorite food...frozen yogurt! she LOVED it! we all went out for yogurt at this new store close by. it's one of those awesome stores where you grab your cup and there are a million different flavors and you put whatever you wanted in! i of course finished mine before we got home but mark was nice enough to share with avery! happy monday!

table food success

the big news of the day is avery is eating "table foods"! i decided to give her some banana chunks this morning and she loved them. of course then she wouldn't eat her baby food but i can't blame her, i like to chew my food too! :) it now takes about 5 times as long for her to eat but she seems to enjoy it more!

ps-i can't figure out how to get rid of the underlining!

i should add i also got a new phone yesterday and joined the rest of my generation with a phone with internet access. turned out the phone came in handy today because the camera battery was dead so i took these pictures on my new phone! :) i know what you are thinking, just want i need more access to the internet because i am never around my computer! ;)

so i'm sorry this video is kind of long but the 2nd half is really the best! i do love the first part too because i think she is so cute when she chews! i took this the first time she was eating. don't worry she feeds herself it was just for that day when i put the little things in her mouth because i didn't think she would be able to pick them up. turns out she can! atleast she has some reaction when i say "mama" now! :)

i think avery is finally teething. i thought she had a cold, which she still might but she sure is drolling a lot! and according to the internet cold symptoms are a sign of teething. only time will tell but hopefully some toothers come in! she had a play date today with a 10 month old and did great. the little boy couldn't crawl and as usual avery kept stealing his toys! we'll have to work on sharing at some point! :)

happy valentine's day

avery has seen a lot of family this weekend!!! she met her great aunt pluto today!!! we skipped her afternoon nap and kept her up, hence the frown! maybe next time we see them we can capture a smile or two. is was so great to see them and we should also thank them for the 2 hours of peace and quiet we got this afternoon! happy saturday night!

avery went to her first valentine's day party! it was sooo cute! most of the kids are older, 3 to 4 years old and there is one other baby who is 6 months old and 21 pounds, he made avery look tiny! but he couldn't move as well so she had the advantage when it came to which toys she would play with. she would crawl over and take the toy right out of his hands and the baby would just smile! it was so cute. then all the big kids made a plate of cookies and she sat in a high chair eating her little wagon wheel. it was so sweet to see her sitting there with the big kids! i took these pictures with the point and shoot. they might not be the best quality but i love them!
