we bought some boxes of sweethearts to give to avery's classmates. and of course i am going to take some valentine's day pics. well, we opened the box and i started reading them. remember when they used to say, be mine, true love, kiss me. well, now they say things like text me, jump for me, adore me, tweet me. what does tweet me even mean? i'm sure i will ask avery what they mean in 5-7 years when it's new lingo. but i could hear a conversation in my head with my own mother. i think this is how avery would respond if she could understand.

me: what does tweet me mean?

avery: mom, tweet me.

me: yes, what does it mean?

avery: it means to tweet me.

me: oh ok (and i'm going to pretend like i get it so she doesn't think i'm not cool)

but, until then she thinks i'm pretty awesome for letting her hold them and let alone she got to eat THREE! ha!

the unsolicited hug.

just my babies. just me capturing everyday. these days i take a lot of pictures. i want to remember these ages forever.

bubbles. something about them. the kids go nuts. it's like crack for kids. *note to aunt allison. avery's friend had a bracelet and didn't want to share. so i let her wear my special necklace. :)

every since "daddy's big race" avery loves wearing a helmet when she sees one. i watched my friend's kids and of course i took pictures! maybe she'll get a helmet for her birthday.

swinging. she loves to swing. always has. blake now swings. thankful for this wonderful weather.

cereal. organic brown rice cereal to be exact. blake's first food. he loved it. these photos make me sad. he's growing up. something so different about the second time around. tears have been shed because i want him to stay a baby forever.

every month goes by faster and faster. these days you can't keep him on his back. he rolls right over and plays and then screams for you to flip him over. all so he can roll over again and then get flipped back over. avery still cheers for him everytime! she's so cute! and he laughs. a lot! oh you just love him! at exactly 3 months my good sleeper was lost. but last night. at exactly midnight he decided to sleep until 5 am! here's to hoping this next month brings more sleep. he was waking up 3-4 times at night. where does the time go?

avery also thinks its so fun to help blake with his bottle. although she swats his hands when he tries to hold it. which he can do. :)

but after awhile she gives up.

i know i just threw in that we gave blake cereal but it is a milestone. i kept saying to myself i was going to wait until he was 6 months. but, there we were. all eating dinner. blake sitting in my lap and grabbing. so, i thought, why not? i desperately don't want him to grow up. don't get me wrong. avery's age is sooooo cute!!! the words. the sentences. when she runs up to me and says "pick one choice. want a kiss? want a hug?" and her reply (no matter what your answer) "yeah, a (whatever she wants)". but goodness. something about a sweet little baby. he's so soft. so cuddly (because he can't go anywhere). he's just so little and helpless. he is just so great. it doesn't matter if he is completely exhausted. i put my face in front of his and talk to him and he will smile sooo big. he loves his mommy. i just can't explain how much i love that. some nights i don't want to put him to bed because i love the time when we are just laying in our bed and he's cooing and smiling away. this is all coming from the person who was worried i wasn't going to be able to love another child as much as i love avery. i thought girls were the sweetest. girls were it. turns out boys can be just as sweet. i don't know what we did end up with these two. i can tell you we thank God every.single.day. even the bad days just aren't that bad. and today was not a good day. but how can you resist my sweet little man?

i still can't decide if i like the color or black and white!

i knew it would come sooner or later. people need pictures! ha! i started doing a 365 project and more often than not avery or blake is being photographed. here are some since i started! :) blake is currently on a nursing strike which means all of my energy and focus has been trying to get him to nurse. turns out you are not suppose to give a bottle when this happens but of course i did. today he was much better. he also had cereal for the first time this evening. when i get caught up on my sessions i'll upload them from my camera! until then...

mark had monday off last week after the new year so we took a trip to Kemah!

we had a pajama playdate with our friend garrett. he's pretty smooth!

he was in the potty so avery took advantage to jump on his bed. he later joined!

someone picked out new shoes. and by picked out i mean sat in carters, took her shoes off, put them off, and wanted the tag off. thanks to grammy we had a giftcard and she picked out exactly what she wanted!

mimi got us a keurig for Christmas and avery painted me the most wonderful coffee cup i've ever had. i've used it every day since.

mark was working late and avery and i were making dinner. i missed blake's nap so he put himself to sleep. can you find him?

kemah boardwalk

we went to kemah on mark's day off on monday and met our friends and their baby! avery loved the rides and playing the games!!! we bought avery tickets for the rides and when mark went to put her in they said "you are riding with her right? she's too little." apparently they are more strict than the typical mobile carnival workers. so, in he went! he's a good dad!

my sweet girl turned 2.5 last week! she is turning into the sweetest little girl i've ever known. she is so thoughtful of others. she loves her brother more that i ever would have thought a two year old could. she continues to make us laugh everyday. at 2.5 her vocabulary continues to grow. she loves to read to us every night. she has every page memorized and her favorite is the very hungry caterpillar right now. she loves painting and having tea parties. loves having her belly rubbed. she is a girly girl. loves having her nails painted and painting anyone who will let her paint theirs. she tests her limits. a lot these days. i'm looking forward to watching her personality grow!
