AVERY WALKS!!!

Avery took her first steps tonight! Aunt Allison was here and got a video so i'll post it once we get back to houston! but for now i had to share and also document the milestone here so i remember the date! :) YAY for avery!

how do you beat the texas heat?

i should just warn you now, most pictures for the next couple months will involve avery in a swimsuit! we do live in texas after all! we are headed down to see mimi tomorrow and for my good friend sarah's wedding!!!

11 months old

today is the day, avery is 11 months old! only 1 more month until we stop counting her age by months. although i'm pretty sure it rally continues until 2! she took a couple of steps today while mark was holding one of her hands. that's the most progress we've seen from her! we had some friends over for dinner last night and the dads and babies got in the pool! so, here are some pictures from last night. i promise avery doesn't look a whole lot different today than she did last night! :)

we've been spending more time in the water this week. mark is home with us as he is in between jobs so we're going to spend the next couple of weeks hanging out and traveling! avery and i went to the community pool with one of avery's friends from the library on tuesday. they are so cute and about a month apart (of course he's about 7 pounds heavier than avery). they were so cute but only spent about 20 minutes in the water and the rest of the time sat on the towel together and shared a snack. naturally, he ate 5 "baby cheetos" for every one avery ate, he's just so cute! oh, and today mark and i took avery to an introductory class at the little gym. it's basically baby gymnastics and she loved it. she did a forward roll on the balance beam (i spotted her of course) and did rolls and climbed all over the place. it's an 11 week program that she'll start june 8th!

last but not least, the man who, without him i wouldn't have a beautiful daughter and a happy home...

yes, he's growing a mustache. AND he made me crop it so it was just his face! if only he would let me show you his muscle shirt...it really made the picture!

a whole week and no posts. i've taken some pictures but mainly we've been playing and hanging out. avery had her first fever last week which was no fun. she just laid around and slept on us. luckily it lasted less than 24 hours and she was back to normal. i actually enjoyed it a little because she doesn't just lay on us anymore and sleep. but, i also learned that while i keep saying i wish she would stay this age i know i really don't want this. because i missed her smiling and laughing more than anything and was SO excited when she was feeling better again. she is loving the pool too!

i am so sad the weekend is over! i had the best weekend! saturday we went to kemah with my friend from high school, mindy, and her husband. we went to lunch at the aqarium and avery loved the fish. then we just walked around the boardwalk and won avery prizes! for mother's day we all got dressed up and daddy took his girls to brunch at the houstonian! it was so good and around the hotel was beautiful! we walked around and mark took some pictures of avery and i! it was just perfect! and, as if that wasn't enough we went to the galleria! it was the best mother's day ever! i realize it was the first but i'm already looking forward to next year! :)
